: The apartment is in a very good location, we walked everywhere and managed to see all the attractions that we wanted to! The street itself was nice and there were lots of restaurants and small shops nearby. The area was lovely for night-time walks, with the river and Castel Sant'Angelo being close by. At the river, there is also a beautiful view of St. Peter's Basilica, which we loved viewing on most nights. The building was nice (somewhat olden) but luckily, the apartment itself was modern! Our host, Barbara, was lovely! She helped us out with any queries we had and was always happy to help! If we had any problems, she got back to us immediately! When we arrived, Barbara greeted us at the building and took us up to the apartment to show us around, she was kind enough to provide information about local supermarkets, restaurants and bakeries etc. Upon arrival, there was a selection of tea and coffee, along with a bottle of sparkling water. Hand-wash, a couple of rolls of toilet roll and a shampoo were provided! There is a TV in the lounge, which has numerous channels available (all in Italian), if that interests you! There are a few electrical sockets around, including sockets built into the floor in the bedroom - this was a very interesting surprise! The host provided one adapter, which would have been an issue as there are two of us, but we brought an adapter and extension lead of our own!Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately we do have to be honest and can't leave the negatives out!
: Although we enjoyed our stay, we did encounter a few issues. As we're a couple, we require a double bed and therefore only looked for a place with one! We expected a standard double bed however, the bed was very small! Luckily we enjoy cuddling, so this wasn't terrible for us, but you literally have no choice but to cuddle, if you intend on fitting on the bed! There is a sofa bed, but it is very uncomfortable!Even though the apartment is cosy, it is an olden building, so it does get very cold. There are two AC units installed, however, you have to get incredibly close to the unit (by standing on a chair) for it to turn on! After finally managing to turn on the AC, and making sure the settings were correct, the AC started to blow out lukewarm air (on the hottest setting), which still didn't heat up the room! After a couple of minutes, the AC gave up and persisted to blow out cold air! After multiple tries, we gave up using the AC and had to resort to warming up via a hairdryer! Our host offered to bring extra blankets straight away, however we expected the appliances to be fully functioning!Once you enter the building, there is a gate preventing you from getting towards the stairs which leads to the apartments! This gate requires a key to open, which is definitely not a problem during the stay however, at the end of our stay, we were expected to check out without a host (we checked out at 4.30AM). As there was no one to give the keys to, we had to leave it in the apartment and close the door behind us!Luckily, we realised that we had to go down with the keys first, taking our suitcases with us, unlocking and holding the gate open whilst the other person went back up to the apartment to leave the keys behind! Had we not realised that we needed to go down and have someone hold the gate open, we would have been stranded in the building, unable to leave for our flight. This was generally quite inconvenient, and could have been a very big problem!
