  : A very lovely place nearby the Vatican. Cheap restaurants and grocery stores nearby. Friendly owner. Good wifi. Nice little shared kitchen.

  : We had a very short but memorable stay here. The location, view and antiquity of the building was lovely. Any gaps in the stay were filled in by the warmth and friendliness of our host Alessia. She helped me leave a gift for my friend, that was very sweet.

  : Great location near the Vatican, also close to public transport. Comfortable bed, spacy and clean room with a private bathroom. There is a common kitchen.
  : One of the hosts was great, but the other one gave us some strange attitude. Was a bit loud at the time of the stay, some construction works around.

We booked and paid for the room for two nights at Colazione Al Vaticano and then the owner didn’t answer the phone when we called and sent messages and we couldn’t get into the room. We hope this will not happen to anybody else, especially not to a family with children, and this is why we write this review.This is what happened to us. We booked and paid for the room for two nights but when we came to Rome with our two children the owner didn’t answer the phone and we couldn’t get into the room. We stayed outside and called for a few hours and some kind person who stayed in another guest house in the same building finally managed to help us. He first called the owner of Colazione Al Vaticano who also ignored his calls. Then he called the owner of his own guest house who in turn called the owner of Colazione Al Vaticano. The owner answered now and wrote that the check in was at 7 pm and we had called and arrived after that time and that was why he had decided to not answer the phone and not let us into the room we had paid for in his guest house. The person who helped us suggested something about some financial compensation and then the owner contacted me on the phone and he told me where the key to the door was. Finally, after a few hours, we could get inside the room. But this is only thanks to this kind person helping us. Otherwise we and our children probably would have spent the night outside and we would have lost the money we paid for staying two nights at.Colazione Al Vaticano. You can read in the other reviews, for example somebody writes that they arrived on time but the owner blocked their call anyway and they couldn’t get into the room that they paid for. So if you compare to these people we were lucky to get inside the guest house. There were cockroaches on the floor.The owner charges 14 euro per day for city tax. In better hotels in Rome it was 12 euro.
